In October 2012, the Prime Minister set out his vision for a fair and just society as part of his crime and justice speech. The Government is now engaged in wide-reaching reform of rehabilitation, led by Justice Secretary Chris Grayling, which will see fewer offenders returning to the Criminal Justice System.
To achieve this, the need for offenders to leave the system better equipped with the skills and opportunities to allow them to build lives that will keep them out of crime is ever more pressing.
This national conference and broadcast looks at the increasing role the Government, the secure estate, the probation system, private sector, charities and the voluntary sector will play in the government’s rehabilitation revolution to assess the impact of the proposed reform and the challenges ahead.
