Tim Hutchings
Tim Hutchings was appointed Chief Executive of The Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 1994. Since taking over the reigns at the Chamber it has tripled in size and become one of the UK’s leading Chambers. HCCI has over 2000 full and affiliated members representing businesses of all sizes and covering all key sectors in the county.
The Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry has been particularly active in supporting the development of skills in the county by encouraging links between the business and education sectors. It has also developed close links with the University of Hertfordshire and has provided significant input into the Aimhigher and Foundation Degree programmes. Since October 2006 the Chamber has also managed the schools work experience contract in the county.
Tim is also a member of 14-19 Strategic Partnership Group and the Hefce Business and Enterprise panel. He also served as the British Chambers of Commerce nominee on the “Tomlinson” employers contact sub-group of the Governments 14-19 working group.
Through his work as a stakeholder member on the East of England Regional Assembly he has developed a close interest in International Trade and is currently a Director of East of England International Limited which has a role in encouraging exporting and inward investment into the East of England. He has developed a number of links in China, Poland, Dubai and the USA.
Tim is a regular contributor to business publications and his views are often sought by local and national broadcasters.
