David Jenkins is Director of Partnerships at Staffordshire University, with responsibility for the strategic direction of the Staffordshire University Regional Federation (SURF). This is a HE in FE partnership that includes Staffordshire University as the lead institution, the seven FE/Sixth Form Colleges in Staffordshire and two of Shropshire’s FE colleges.

Other responsibilities include: Co-ordinating Staffordshire University’s collaborations with all overseas partners and other UK Partnerships including FE colleges outside SURF and other organisations which deliver Staffordshire University awards.

David is an Executive member of the Association for Collaborative Provision of HE in FE in England (ACP).

Originally a geography teacher, David has worked in high schools, a college and was involved in the management of Staffordshire’s Technical and Vocational Education Initiative (TVEI), (1986 – 1993) before moving to Staffordshire Training & Enterprise Council (TEC), (1993 – 2000).

David runs a small publishing company specialising in the reprinting of Wisden Cricketers’ Almanacks – the perfect antidote to working in Education!
