Dr Caroline Ball, Independent Chair, Norfolk LSCB

Caroline worked at UEA from 1982 to 2004 teaching child law to practitioners as well as students in the Schools of Social Work and Law, and was Dean of the Law School 1998 -2001. She has a long-term research interest in youth justice, child care and adoption law and has written and lectured widely on aspects of these topics.

Outside academic life, Caroline undertook several serious case reviews and chaired social services complaints panels for a number of authorities. She has been independent chair of the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Board since April 2006.
