A social and political researcher by background, Brian worked at the BBC prior to joining MORI in 1979. He was appointed Managing Director in 1994 and Chief Executive in 2000 and now works as Chief Executive of Ipsos MORI. In 1995-6 he was seconded to the Cabinet Office to conduct an independent review of the programme for market testing and contracting out of government services. He was President of the World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR) in 2001-2.
