Cllr Kay Hammond
Kay Hammond was elected to Surrey County Council in 1997 and previously was both a teacher and Legal Executive. She is currently the Cabinet Member for Community Safety. Her portfolio includes working with the police, probation, criminal justice organisations and prisons. Her main responsibility is Fire and Rescue.
Kay became a member of the Local Government Fire Services’ Management
Committee in 2009 and has led nationally on collating case studies of the role of retained duty systems. Kay also has worked extensively with Local Government Improvement and Development and has completed several operational assessments and specialised in the Equality Framework
for Fire & Rescue.
