Professor Patricia Pol
Prof. Patricia Pol is the Vice-President for international development at the Université Paris-Est in France, a position she has held since 2000. She is also a Bologna expert and a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU) board. Previously, from 1991, Professor Pol was In charge of international development at Université Paris XI. During the last 15 years, she has coordinated several international and European projects in various fields in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa. Expert for the French National Evaluation Agency (AERES) and the Swiss Centre of Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (OAQ), she has participated in the evaluation of French universities. She has also contributed to numerous studies related to the Erasmus programme, the international grant system of the French government, and the CampusFrance agency. Professor Pol is also Professor at the University Paris Est-Créteil. Her teaching concerns international and intercultural management and human resource development. She is co-director of a master’s course in the Development and Management of Universities. Her research centres on internationalization of organizations (firms and universities) and more particularly, international mobility. She has written various articles and reports about the higher education system in France and the internationalization of French universities. Since September 2004, Professor Pol has been coordinating the French ‘expert Bologna team’ and has been participating in many conferences on the Bologna process all over the world.
