Stephen is a qualified careers adviser and worked for a number of years in schools in Bedfordshire and East London in this capacity. He has since worked in and with the higher education sector for well over a decade. Part of this time was spent working in Widening Participation at London Metropolitan University where he was involved in supporting the development of policy in this area both at the institutional and national level. Stephen was involved in the initial development of the Aim Higher programme and has continued to support the WP and fair access agenda in his work at Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. At SSAT Stephen works with schools and universities to foster and encourage partnership between the two sectors in a variety of contexts including supporting student transition, joint community work, developing cohesive teaching and learning experiences, and academic /subject specialism links.
