Rt Hon Lord Bruce Grocott
First elected as an MP in 1974 Bruce Grocott has held positions in every Labour Government since 1974. He was Parliamentary Private Secretary to Tony Blair as Leader of the Opposition and then as Prime Minister from 1994-2001.
Raised to the Peerage in 2001 becoming Government Chief Whip in the House of Lords from 2002-2008.
He is a member of the Leader’s group on working practices.
