Colin is an economist with NHS Education for Scotland (NES). Together with other colleagues in NES, he is developing the AIM for workforce programme, which provides analysis, intelligence and modelling (AIM) to inform workforce planning for health care in Scotland. Among other things, the AIM for Workforce programme uses administrative data to understand the training and labour markets for health professionals. This includes several applications in nursing and midwifery including using a unique data set to examine the determinants of completion from pre-registration nursing and midwifery training in Scotland.
