Vince Barrett
Vince has enjoyed a varied career, starting out in 1970 as a management trainee in a factory before progressing to teacher training college and becoming secondary school teacher of English in the West Midlands in 1974.
After six years - and in order to fulfil a dream - he left teaching for a while to try life on the open road as a lorry driver. This experience gave him a real insight into world of work and so, using this experience, his next move in 1984 was to be a careers co-ordinator in a large comprehensive school in East Yorkshire.
In 1991, he became a local authority advisory teacher for Careers Education; in 1993, an Ofsted inspector; in 1995, a Careers Service Teacher Training Manager and in 2001, the Education Development Manager for Connexions Humber.
Vince was elected President of ACEG in July 2011.
