Pete Smillie
Pete Smillie is the Careers Consultant for Luton Borough Council. His work through the school improvement service has included contributing to senior leadership school improvement reviews, organising conferences and training for careers leaders and advisers, supporting schools and colleges to work towards Investor in Careers, and developing a labour market resource.
Pete is currently enabling schools, colleges and work-based learning providers in the Luton area to complete a ‘health check’ on the impact of their CEIAG arrangements in readiness for new statutory duties.
Previously, Pete worked in Hertfordshire in a variety of roles in career guidance, trainee support and management, working closely with a wide range of schools, FE colleges, training providers, students and unemployed young people.
Pete is a member of the Institute of Career Guidance, the Association for Careers Education and Guidance and part of the Advisers and Inspectors for Careers Education professional network for consultants.
