Chris Banks
Chris Banks, FRSA, joined Aberdeen as University Librarian and Director, Library Special Collections and Museums in October 2007 as the University embarked on one of the biggest and most important cultural projects undertaken in Scotland in recent years: the creation of a new £57million Library and Special Collections Centre.
The new building was officially named The Sir Duncan Rice Library by Her Majesty the Queen in September 2012. With over twenty years' experience at the British Library, Chris is Chair of the Scottish Confederation of University Research Libraries (SCURL) and a Board Member of Research Libraries UK (RLUK) and a Board Member of the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC). Chris is a Trustee of the following organisations: the Britten-Pears Foundation, the New Berlioz Edition, Sound and the Aberdeen International Youth Festival.
