Dr Nick Ridley
Dr Nick Ridley is a Senior lecturer in Policing and Security at London MetropolitanUniversity. He was a criminal intelligence analyst years, at the Metropolitan Police, New Scotland Yard, Special Branch and the Anti Terrorist Branch, and then at Europol. At Europol he was attached to Anti Terrorist Unit where he was engaged in operational analysis of financing of terrorism. He was also seconded to the FBI headquarters Washington.
After 11 years at Europol, he was an associate lecturer at the Universita Cattolica in Milan, Italy, teaching courses in intelligence analysis, to postgraduate students. He then joined London Metropolitan University.
Nick holds a first degree in History from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, a Diploma in International Economic Relations from the Economics Faculty University of Budapest, Hungary and a PhD from the University of Southampton and a second PhD from London Metropolitan University, the second one on studies in terrorist financing.He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Teramo, Italy and at the NATO Centre of Excellence-Defence against Terrorism Centre in Ankara,Turkey. He has held three Research Fellowships from the Airey Neave Trust researching aspects of terrorist financing,and has recently published a book ’Terrorist Financing”
