Dr Anna Dixon
Anna Dixon is Director of Policy and acting Chief Executive at The King’s Fund.
Her main research interests include health system reforms, professional regulation, patient choice, and self management of long term conditions. Anna is currently leading projects on how patients choose and providers respond, the impact of QOF on health inequalities, and how to present quality information to support patient choice.
Anna began her career with the World Health Organisation working as a research officer for the European Observatory on Health Care Systems. In 2003-2004 she worked as a policy analyst in the Department of Health Strategy Unit, advising Ministers and contributing to the development of The NHS Improvement Plan.
Prior to joining The King’s Fund Anna was a Lecturer in European Health Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In 2005-6 she was awarded a Harkness Fellowship in Health Policy by the Commonwealth Fund of New York.
She has a PhD in Social Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
