Kim is a Registered General Nurse and is currently a lecturer in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southampton where she is the Adult Field Lead for the Bachelor of Nursing programme, and the Faculty Lead for safeguarding.

Prior to joining the University, Kim was a Clinical Nurse Manager at Portsmouth Hospitals Trust, where she was responsible for nursing care and clinical governance in the Division of Medicine for Older People, and where she also took a lead in adult safeguarding in the Trust.

Previous clinical experience has mostly been in areas related to the care of older people and has included roles as a Lecturer-practitioner in older peoples’ medicine, Inspector of nursing and residential homes, Advocate for people with learning disabilities and dementia, and Reviewer and Clinical Advisor for the Healthcare Commission. Kim is currently studying for an MA in Safeguarding Adults.
