Dr Julie Holland, Director, Glendonbrook Centre for Enterprise Education, Loughborough
Dr Julie Holland began her academic career in 1990 as a lecturer in the Pharmacy School at the University of Nottingham. Following a year’s secondment in the medical device industry, she returned to the School of Pharmacy as Business Manager where she was responsible for school finance, administration, intellectual property management and commercialisation and business planning. Julie went on to become a director of a drug discovery start-up business.
In 2002, she became Director of the East Midlands NHS Innovation Hub the commercialisation office for primary and secondary care NHS trusts.
Since April 2005, Julie has lectured at Loughborough University in enterprise education and innovation management. In 2011, Julie became Director of the Glendonbrook Centre for Enterprise Education. Housed in the School of Business and Economics, the Centre’s remit is to ensure that undergraduate and postgraduate students from across the University develop enterprising and innovative skills with which to put their degree course knowledge and expertise to good use.
Julie has research interests in work-based learning and problem solving, entrepreneurship and innovation management and management education.
