Catriona Hammer
Catriona Hammer joined GE in April 2004 through the acquisition of Amersham and now manages the Intellectual Property department for GE Healthcare. The department is a global team based in nine countries providing full IP support for GE Healthcare’s businesses, covering technologies from research tools to medical equipment. She joined Amersham in September 1999 and held a number of positions within the Intellectual Property department.
Before joining Amersham, Catriona worked in the pharmaceutical industry, in the Intellectual Property departments of GlaxoWellcome and The Wellcome Foundation. Prior to that, she worked in a firm of patent attorneys.
Catriona holds a degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University and professional qualifications as a Chartered patent attorney and European patent attorney. She is President of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and is a Council member of the IP Federation.
