Graham Stuart is Global Head of Patents for Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR), a division of Novartis AG, based in Basel, Switzerland. Having obtained a BSc. (Hons) in Chemistry from University of Edinburgh, Graham’s career began as a Medicinal Chemist at Glaxo, before moving into the Global IP Department.

He moved to the Patent Dept of Pfizer Limited in Sandwich, Kent, before joining Novartis in Horsham, West Sussex, in 2005. He has undertaken a number of roles in Novartis, including an assignment to Cambridge MA, as NIBR Head of US Patents. Graham is a member of the Novartis IP Leadership Team and he also chairs the cross-divisional Patent Prosecution Practice Team.
