Professor Mike Pidd
MIKE PIDD is Professor Emeritus of Management Science in Lancaster University Management School, from which he retired in the autumn of 2014. He Chaired the Business & Management Studies sub-panels in RAE 2008 and REF 2014 and was a member of the sub-panel in RAE 2001. He has served as President of the Operational Research Society and Chair of the Committee of Professors in Operational Research.
He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, Fellow of the British Academy of Management, Companion of Operational Research and member of both ESRC and EPSRC peer colleges. He is best known for his research into modelling and simulation as employed in management science, and for his later work on performance measurement in public services. He enjoys being able to pick and choose what he does following retirement.
