Dr Gerry O’Shea GP
Gerry O'Shea is a GP at Urban Village Medical Practice in Manchester. He has worked at Practice since 1991. The Practice was originally single handed but has over the years expanded to almost 9500 patients with currently six full time GPs and two trainee GPs. The Practice has a long standing commitment to delivering high quality care to a diverse inner city population. It has for many years offered specialised primary care services to homeless patients including the recent development of 'mpath', a hospital in-reach service for homeless patients admitted to Manchester Royal Infirmary. The Practice runs the largest shared care drug treatment service in the city and offers a comprehensive range of other services.
Gerry has a keen interest in GP training and three of his previous registrars now work as GPs in the surgery. He is also interested in liver disease and has helped to develop a successful shared care community based Hepatitis C treatment service at the Practice.
