Professor van Jaarsveld completed executive management training at Harvard University after academic studies and research in South Africa, Australia and the UK. He is an expert on biodiversity, conservation planning, biodiversity, climate change and ecosystem services and is the former chief executive officer of South Africa’s National Research Foundation.
