Rodney Hill
Rodney Hill is Chief Executive of Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust (WLCT). This is a charitable organisation which manages the whole range of leisure and cultural services, including libraries, sport, arts, parks, play, cemeteries, etc. on behalf of Wigan Council. WLCT also manages contracts for other local authorities, including the leisure services provision in Selby District Council, North Yorkshire. Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust employs over 900 staff, with a turnover of £36m.
Rodney has over 35 years Local Government experience: 25 years as a senior manager. Before working in Wigan he worked in the London Borough of Camden and Tower Hamlets.
Rodney is on the Executive of the national Chief Leisure Officers’ Association and is an Adviser to the LGA. He is also on the North West 2012 Steering Group as the Greater Manchester representative.
Rodney is a Cambridge University graduate, has recently completed a post-graduate certificate in Executive Coaching, and is currently training to be a Gestalt Psychotherapist.
He will be leaving Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust in April 2011 to establish his own business as a Leadership & Organisational Coach, as well as completing his Psychotherapy qualification.
