Judith has worked in the FE Sector for 20 years; firstly as a teacher of English and Education and then in recent years as a senior manager. She has been a member of Gateshead College's successful Senior Leadership Team for six years. Her responsibilities have included: Directorship of Teaching and Learning, including developing the strategy for all aspects of Teacher Professional Development and Performance Improvement.

Judith has also worked as a Teaching and Learning Consultant for Gateshead LEA, leading the implementation of the successful 14-19 cross-phase Teaching and Learning Initiative; an initiative which was described by ministers at the time as 'practice ahead of policy'.

She is currently Deputy Principal: Curriculum and Quality at Gateshead College. As Inspection nominee, she prepared Gateshead College for the OFSTED Inspection in 2009 which resulted in ‘outstanding’ being awarded across all categories.
