Keynote address: Sir Martin Narey, Ministerial Adviser on Adoption
The Kinship Care - the first choice for children conference and awards will take place here on Policy Review TV on Thursday 6 June 2013.
With rising numbers of care applications and an increased scrutiny of their performance, children's services are undoubtedly feeling ever growing pressure.
Developed in association with Grandparents Plus, this event will bring together leading national and international experts on kinship care to address some of the fundamental challenges children's services will face. The speaker panel will:
- examine the strengths and challenges of kinship care
- discuss how the contribution of grandparents and the wider family can be better recognised
- explore how wider family placements should be assessed
- discover how local authorities can work in partnership with kinship carers to provide cost-effective solutions
